How to Set Up the Carolina rig
The diagram shows how the pieces sit on the line. Follow the steps in order.
- Slide a 1/2-1 oz bullet weight onto your main line (12-17 lb).
- Add a glass or plastic bead, then a swivel.
- Tie the main line to one side of the swivel.
- Tie a 2-3 ft fluorocarbon leader (10-15 lb) on the other side of the swivel.
- Tie a 2/0-3/0 hook to the leader and rig a lizard or worm Texas-style.
- Cast out, let it sink and drag it slowly along the bottom.
Tip: The clicking weight and bead call fish in, so drag it smoothly across hard bottoms.
